Local policing comes under Chichester District (West Downs) with policing for Plaistow and Ifold Parish undertaken by the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) operating from Petworth police station. The team is run by Sergeant Rob Knight with Police Constable Philip Hanlon and Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) Clair Gamlin covering this Parish.

The nearest police station

The nearest police station is situated at Grove Street, Petworth, GU28 0BU. The police station is open on weekdays from 10.00 to 20.00 (closing at 18.00 on Saturdays and bank holidays). It is closed on Sundays.

Neighbourhood Policing Panel

In November 2008 a Neighbourhood Policing Panel was created covering five local parishes, including Plaistow and Ifold.

Local people involved with their communities can become members of the Panel and help set priorities for local policing.

The Panel meets every six to eight weeks to discuss local issues and the police response to them. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Panel should contact a member of the Neighbourhood Policing Team listed above.

West Sussex Trading Standards Office

For problems with doorstep cold callers, rogue traders and the like contact West Sussex Trading Standards Office as soon as possible on 01243642125. They have a Rapid Action Team to respond to calls with the aims of protecting the vulnerable and collecting evidence of crime.
