Other Library Services
Do you know anyone who has trouble using the library because of age, disability or illness? An application can be made for that person to use the Housebound Readers Service. This is by way of a form from your local library or from the County Council web site.
The Library Service offers a wide range of services for visually impaired people. Close caption and sub-titled videos - nearly all feature films in the Service’s video collection have closed captions which can be read by a caption decoder. There are also some sub-titled videos in the County. Requests for these can be made at any library.
Large print and audio books are available and these are free of charge for visually impaired people. Clear Vision books are also available for children. These books have had a Braille text inserted on clear plastic sheets so that the pictures and print are still visible.
